REVIEW | KEVYN AUCOIN SCULPTING POWDER

This is a product that I have been wanting to try for the longest time, but I could never justify spending this much money on essential a contour powder. I've always struggled to find a contour powder that is cool-toned and not too orange which compliments my skin tone; so hearing both Katheenlights and Sophdoesnails rave about this product I bite the bullet and purchased the Sculpting Powder in the shade medium

The Kevyn Aucoin Sculpting Powder comes in three shades: light, medium and deep and retails at £35 from online retailers such as Cult Beauty and Space NK. All three shades are described as grey toned which is perfect for contouring. I have to say it does feel like a luxurious product when you receive the powder in a little velvet bag.

In the pan, you receive 3.1g of product which is about standard for a high-end product. The claim for this product is "finely-milled texture is great for undetectable application every time, and it is virtually impossible to overdo it" which is absolutely key for beginners, or people like myself who aren't the best at contouring. The colour is easy enough to build up which is ideal so that you don't start application over the top.

The powder is completely matte and packs a lot of pigment and the powder feels incredibly soft. I've had no problems with it blending into my other face makeup and in general, the application is rather effortless. Overall, I hate myself for loving this product because it's just so expensive but I can't get how nice to feels to treat yourself to a bit of luxury makeup.

Have you tried the Sculpting Powder?
