MUST HAVE | FULL COVERAGE LONG LASTING GRADUATION MAKEUP

So my graduation has soon and it was such a busy time, especially since I'm going on holiday the day after. I've been creating little posts to help me get ready for these two big occasions at once! In this post, I thought I'd run through what makeup I plan to wear for my graduation, baring in mind in England we have no clue what the weather is going to be like, lots of photos will need to be taken (i.e. avoid flashback) and also has the ability to last for a long period of time.

Skin Care

In terms of skin care, I want to use a couple of products but not too much, I find putting too many products onto your face can cause your makeup to move around. My two favourite skin care products on a day to day basis is The Body Shop - Anti Imperfection Daily Solution which claims to help with blemishes and clear up the skin, it also contains glycerin which means it's the perfect base to help everything stick. I also like to go in with a moisturiser, which in this case will definitely be Soap and Glory - Speed Plump All Day Super Moisture Marvel. This is the first moisturiser I've ever repurchased, it smells incredible and leaves your skin feeling so soft.
Base

Next up, I need to add a primer into the mix which is going to help lock all the skin care products into place. My favourite primer for big occasions like this has to be the Too Faced - Hangover Primer. Not only does it smell amazingly, it works well with all of my favourite products and makes sure there is no budging. I love that this primer is silicon free because it stops it balling up when applied to the face with other products. However, I need to pair this with a pore filler to help cover up some of the texture on my face so I plan on using the L'Oreal Paris - Nude Magique Blur Cream

I really struggled to decide which foundation to wear and there were so many high-end options being thrown round that I was going to purchase for this day. I knew I wanted a full coverage foundation but that's as much as I had decided. I picked up the Natasha Denona - Foundation X  on a whim after hearing so many people talking about it's coverage and staying power and honestly, I'm super impressed with this. My only issue was how much texture you can see through this foundation but with a good pore filler and liquid peel, this problem was solved! lastly for the base, I'm going to pair this foundation with the Nars - Radiant Creamy Concealer since these two work flawlessly together, and the concealer has a high bright coverage without much creasing.

Eyes

For any eye look to stay in place, you need a reliable eye sthadow primer. This will come as no surprise to you because it's everyone's holy grail: Urban Decay - Primer Potion.
I haven't full decided what eye look I'm going for yet as I just had a huge change to my hair colour and need to try a few different looks to see what works best - but some of my favourite eye shadows as of late have been the Colourpop - Pressed Powder Shadows so I'm almost 100% sure these will be what I use on the day.

I'm not the kind of person who goes over the top with eye makeup, I never usually wear eyeliner or falsies so I won't be wearing them to graduation otherwise I'm not going to feel like me. So I'm just going to pair this eye look with one of the most volumising mascaras I own which is the Tarte - Tartiest Mascara. For my brows I'll be mixing Nyx - Micro Brow pencil with the L'Oreal - Brow Artist to create a nice natural brow look.

Face

Now in term of finishing off my face makeup, all the bits which will need set in place will be done using  MAC - Studio Fix Powder, it is so good at setting everything in place, adding more coverage where needed without looking cakey or overly powderly. Also, I plan on using the RCMA - No Colour Powder to help bake and sculpt the face (I absolutely love this technique!)

My go to contour powder has to be none other than the Kevyn Aucoin - Sculpting Powder since this shade is perfect for my skin tone. I love pairing this contour with Nars - Bronzing Powder for the perfect sun kissed look! For highlight, I really struggled to pick what I should wear but I think it has to come down to my old trusty fave The Balm - 'Mary-Lou Manizer' as this literally looks stunning on pictures. Lastly, for lipstick I need something that isn't going to budge, but potentially could be easily topped up if it were to need it and there's only one liquid lipstick which popped to mind and that is the Huda Beauty - Liquid Matte!

Be sure to follow me on my social medias because I'm sure I'll be posting a lot of pictures from graduation on there once it's happened!

Are any of these products your holy grails?

  1. The NARS concealer and Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer are two of my holy grails too! I also really want to try the Too Faced Hangover Primer!
