You will have seen in a couple of my recent posts that I splashed out on a Natasha Denona Foundation, more specifically, the foundation X. I discovered this foundation by YouTube because Jamie Genevieve was raving about how good the coverage and wear time was while she was at Coachella. FYI, this is also a cruelty-free product for those who may be interested in trying it.

I wanted to splurge on a foundation for graduation that would have good coverage, be super long lasting and look nice in photos, so I thought I'd give it a try. I picked up this foundation in the shade #30 Light Medium. This foundation rings in at £37 on Beauty Bay so it is slightly on the more pricey side compared to some of the higher end foundations influencers rave about.

The foundation comes in a frosted glass bottle with a pump which wins points for packaging but since it is a glass bottle, there's likely to be a chunk of product that I can't reach. Overall, the packaging is super simplistic and would look incredibly pretty on your vanity.

The swatches I saw online seemed to be relatively true to real life and I didn't notice any oxidation in the shade, which is always a plus because they're nothing worse than buying a foundation only for it to develop two shades darker after 10 minutes. For reference of this review, I would say I have normal to slightly dry skin.

Looking on the Sephora website, the claims of the foundation claim "A long-lasting, full-coverage, radiant foundation that doesn’t set into fine lines and leaves the skin with a naturally radiant, flawless finish. " which is suitable for all skin types. In general, I must say I agree with 99% of the claims for this foundation. I wore this all day for graduation which was about 15 hours and I only had to touch up the apples of my cheeks because my redness was starting to show through.

All products seemed to work so nicely alongside this foundation and powder products blended effortlessly. It's also worth noting for a full coverage foundation, it has a very light feel and didn't look too over the top or cakey.

The only downside to this foundation that I noticed was the way it stuck to the texture on your face. On my test run of this foundation, I felt as if my pores were more visible and the texture on my nose showed through quite a lot. However, when I used The Body Shop liquid peel and moisturised my face, the foundation lay 100x better than before.

In the reviews I've read, I've not heard many people mention the way it looks with texture on your face but I must say I noticed a huge difference which is worth remembering if you're wanting to use this foundation for a special occasion.

What is your go to foundation?
