REVIEW | BARRY M CRUSHED JEWELS CREAM SHADOW COLLECTION

I've been raving about liquid eyeshadows a lot recently so when I saw that as part of the Barry M Spring Collection, they were launching their own version of these liquid eyeshadows I knew I had to try them. I've never really tried Barry M makeup, but I am a huge fan of their nail polishes. I know so many people love the brand because they're cruelty-free which is usually a rare find at the drugstore. If liquid/cream eyeshadows are going to be a beauty trend of 2018, I'm definitely on board. They're a lazy girls dream. I'm all for products which can speed up my makeup routine in a morning.

So they released 8 shades in the Crushed Jewel collection (how cute is that name though) and I picked up 5 of them. I didn't bother ordering the other three because they're not shades that I would usually go for so they would have just ended up going to waste.

I picked up the shades: Pillow Talk (a cool-toned gold), Cloud Nine (light pink), Fairytale (copper), Blissful (duochrome pink/purple toned shadow) and Dream Catcher (bronzed, muted purple).

They retail at £4.99, which I think is pretty affordable and can be purchased from both Boots & Superdrug!

The shadows have a doe foot applicator which makes it super easy and quick to apply. The formula is very light-weight and pigmented. It dries fast and does not seem to budge or transfer throughout the day, which is perfect for a product like this.  Compared to some of the other cream eyeshadows I've tried, I would say this isn't as 'glitzy' compared to the likes of the Colourpop or Morphe versions, but I think this makes these shades perfect for throwing on with your everyday makeup looks.

I love that it comes in 8 different shades as not many brands have brought out such a large range. The fact that they're from the drugstore too means that they're likely to be on offer regularly or you can even use your points towards them to treat yourself!

I found they blend with eyeshadows much easier than some of the others I have tried; I found the Colourpop Supernova shadows were difficult to blend afterwards, yet the Barry M cream shadows blend with ease and you never have to worry about fall out from the glitter as it's more of a foiled formula.

Yesterday, I did an extended wear test for  14 hours and my eye look still looked amazing at the end of the night. That's so impressive to me because I end up touching my eyes a lot through the day and the shadow looked almost as pigmented as it did when I put it on in the morning! That's definitely a winner for me.

The ONLY downside that I seem to have found with these products which may be a deal breaker is that I get an irritated sensation until the product has dried down. At first, I thought it was maybe due to me applying it too close to my lash line but I've tested this theory a few times and I still feel this tingle. Sometimes it's not on both eyes but my friend Kat also has tested the Pillow Talk shade and she said she noticed the same feeling. I didn't think I had particularly sensitive eyes, but it is something to definitely be wary of if you're going to pick up these products.

That being said, it really hasn't put me the shadows and I still continue to wear them all the time!

Have you picked up any of the Crushed Jewels range?
